How Trump lost it all

Tony Fabrizio, Trump’s pollster, wrote a 27 page report which uses the exit polling in 10 states that shows that the Trump campaign lost strength with several demographics, such as white seniors, white men, suburbanites, and white college educated voters generally.

Biden won voters who were concerned with coronavirus by a 3 to 1 margin. While the economy was a concern with voters, they prioritized the coronavirus issue over the economy.

Voters made up their minds about whom to support before the final month of the election season. While republican voters may have agreed with Trump’s policies, they were exhausted with Trump’s behavior.

This report was circulated among political professionals generally, including the Trump campaign.

Fabrizio had written a 79 page memo in the summer which argued that Trump needed to focus on the pandemic more than reopening the economy. He recommended that Trump should be encouraging people to wear masks.

“This fucking virus,” Trump asked dismissively, according to a person with direct knowledge of the exchange, “what does it have to do with me getting reelected Fabrizio’s warning played out and Trump lost the election. The election was not stolen.
