The Biden-Harris campaign has just launched “Women for Biden,” a nationwide effort to mobilize female voters by contrasting the administration’s stance on women’s rights and dignity with that of Donald Trump and his depraved Republican Party. First Lady Jill Biden is leading the way, beginning with a speech in Atlanta on Friday in which she lambasted Trump for considering a national abortion ban and being “dangerous to women and to our families.”

While “Joe has placed women at the heart of his agenda,” Biden argued, Trump has instead “spent a lifetime tearing us down and devaluing our existence.” Pointing out both Trump’s past actions and his recent statements, such as taking credit for “killing Roe v. Wade,” Biden slammed Trump as someone who “mocks women’s bodies, disrespects our accomplishments and brags about assault.”

Biden chose Georgia as the starting point of this mobilization effort “because four years ago, Georgia, you put us in the White House.” This weekend, Biden takes her important message to stops in Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin, aiming to shore up Democratic enthusiasm in these battleground states that also chose Biden over Trump in 2020 and will no doubt be pivotal in the upcoming presidential election.

It is fitting that this effort kicked off in March, which is Women’s History Month, which President Biden recently proclaimed as a time when “we celebrate the courageous women who have helped our Nation build a fairer, more just society.” You can learn more about the newly launched “Women for Biden” campaign or sign up to get involved by visiting womenforbidenharris.com.
