Where in the world is Donald Trump? Where is Donald Trump when he’s not sitting in a New York City courtroom? Where Donald Trump is NOT, my friends, out on the campaign trail. Why? Gaffes. Mental disintegration.

Could it be a lack of funds? Republican Party strategist Susan Del Percio suggests that Trump’s financial situation might be a key factor in his decision to stay out of the public eye and in the private basement.

Speaking on with MSNBC, she noted that Trump has Wednesdays off, which would, in theory, leave him free to slither about the countryside if that was what he wanted to do. Trump’s also free on weekends. But Trump hasn’t chosen to do it now, has he? “Why wasn’t he campaigning this weekend?” she asked.

She has a point. The old Trump, the one we used to know, would have scheduled a rally to coincide with the time of the White House Correspondents dinner. That’s what the old Trump would have done.

The old Trump would have likely seized any opportunity to rally his supporters. The new Trump is choosing to wander about his house, doing who knows what, although fast food is likely part of this decision.

His campaign undoubtedly keeps him on a short leash, scared to death by what the man might say. But money is also playing a role. The fact is—he doesn’t have any. “The fact is they don’t have enough campaign cash on hand to actually hold these rallies.” This certainly is not good news for Donald Trump, but these days — what is?
