When the week began, Joe Biden’s election victory hadn’t yet been certified, the Democrats hadn’t yet won control of the Senate, there hadn’t yet been a terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol, Donald Trump still had a Twitter account, and you could have gotten million to one Vegas betting odds against there being another impeachment.

Yet here we are, and all of those things happened. We’re now nearing the end of one of the strangest weeks in American history, with twists and turns so unrealistic they’d get a Hollywood script writer fired just for suggesting them.

No one can predict precisely what will happen over the next eleven days. It’s going to be a roller coaster ride. The only thing we know for sure is that once we get to January 20th, Joe Biden will be President of the United States, and Donald Trump in a world of hurt. At this point it’s just a matter of how much hurt Trump wants to put himself in. America will still be standing; Trump will end up in prison.
