“We will get destroyed…and we will deserve it”

The Republican Prophecy was uttered a long time ago. It happened back when Donald John Trump was still just a candidate among a sea of candidates, running for the honor of being the next Republican nominee for President of the United States of America.

And in the beginning, Republicans — some of them — resisted. And it was Lindsey Graham — now the biggest Trump sycophant in history — who uttered the dire prediction: “If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed…..and we will deserve it.”

Graham should have recognized the power of that prophecy. He should have felt the ill winds. But he didn’t. Most in the GOP didn’t. Instead, they chose to do a Dorian Gray. It cost them. It cost them their pride, honor, and souls. I do not think many could argue that the GOP, as we knew it, has been destroyed. They have been. No longer can they be taken seriously as a party.

The prophecy came true. It showed up in the 2020 presidential election. It showed in the Georgia special elections, where two Democrats won their Senate races. It showed in Kansas — one of the most Republican states in the country — as women soundly rejected the abortion memorandum Republicans wanted so badly.

And it showed in the repudiation of Donald Trump. But now we face the true test. In the November elections, we must concentrate on turnout. It stands to reason many an election denier will howl about the elections not being legitimate. And we want to win by as huge a margin as possible.

It will not change the Republican mindset. It’s not as if when we win big, the GOP will have their moment when they say, “My gosh. What have we DONE?” But beating them over the next several cycles will likely show them the truth. It will show them they’ve destroyed themselves.

It’s going to take time. It is going to take many election cycles, likely. But basically, because of the Republican prophecy, the GOP has made it easier for us because we know their weak point.

It is power — only power. And if they lose enough of it enough times, yes, I believe they will realize the strength in which they’ve destroyed themselves and the power of the Republican prophecy– but only if we win.
