Vivek Ramaswamy just pulled the plug

After Ron DeSantis fell apart in mid 2023, the media decided to hype Vivek Ramaswamy as the next big thing. The media insisted that he was on the rise, that he had momentum, and that his poll numbers were going up, when in fact none of these things were true. Everyone tuned in for the first Republican primary debate to see what all the hype was about, but Vivek’s performance was so awful that his poll numbers actually went down after that.

In reality it was over for Vivek Ramaswamy right then and there. And when he canceled his TV ads for Iowa and New Hampshire a few weeks ago, it meant it was really over. But now that Ramaswamy has performed very poorly in today’s Iowa caucus, he’s making it official.

Vivek Ramaswamy has ended his campaign tonight, according to the Associated Press. He’ll be mostly remembered for having made a total fool of himself in interviews, and for having fumbled away the momentum that the media tried to hand him. It’s a reminder that for all their hype, silly reality show style presidential campaigns centered around buffoon candidates don’t actually translate to viability and votes.
