Trump’s goons reduced to begging

It is usually a mistake to beg for anything in politics’ crazy and changeable world, in this writer’s opinion. Begging can be a mistake. The reason why is because begging is a “tell.” It alerts one’s political enemies that one is desperate. And in many cases, it is a sort of virtual signal to the enemy — that you’re at your weakest.

That can lead to the enemy swooping in to exacerbate the weakness. This is a lesson many politicians learn early in the game. But not always. Some persist in the unhealthy role of beggars. And then all hell can break loose. Reportedly, people around Georgia Governor Brian Kemp are worried. They’re afraid because he is going up against Stacey Abrams for Georgia Governor. And Abrams has a strong chance of winning.

Kemp, however, is disliked – by a certain orange insurrectionist who seems to hate his guts. And allies of Kemp are growing increasingly uneasy that Trump will sabotage the Georgia Governor’s race — by telling his cult to stay home or even telling them to vote for Abrams. So they’re throwing caution to the wind — and begging Mr. Trump. Beggars can’t always be choosers.

So what they’re doing is chatting with the tiny inner circle of Trump — and asking them to help Donald overcome his dislike of Kemp. And CNN’s Gabby Orr said that Trump remains “annoyed” with Kemp – no doubt because Kemp refused to help him steal the Presidential election. Orr said the beggars are asking that Trump “go easy” on Kemp in his attacks. Big mistake.

I predict this method of handling Trump will only get him angrier. Trump doesn’t give a damn about the GOP. He may even want them to fail in Georgia — as payback for the help he thinks they did not give him in stealing the election.

And begging is not going to help. It will likely make the orange monster more angry, contemptuous, and rabid in his mottled rage.

This writer thinks ignoring the attacks would have been the correct way of handling things. But Trump’s not likely to respond to this method of handling the madness. He will not respond to begging. Madmen do not pity, they destroy. This is one lesson that it appears the Republicans will have to learn the hard way.
