Whenever someone compares a politician to Adolf Hitler, it’s usually labeled an overreaction – and it often is one. But Donald Trump previously attempted a Muslim ban and is now suggesting that immigrants all be placed in camps, pages straight out of Hitler’s playbook. And now it turns out Trump reportedly praised Hitler while in the White House.

Retired General John Kelly, who served as Trump’s White House Chief of Staff, now says that Trump once told him that Hitler “did some good things.” It’s not clear why Kelly is waiting until now to reveal this. Kelly was widely seen as complicit in Trump’s racist agenda, so perhaps Kelly has been hesitant to admit that he didn’t resign immediately after Trump praised Hitler, like any decent person would.

In any case, it’s coming out now. And let’s keep in mind that John Kelly is a conservative military leader, who obviously isn’t making up this claim for partisan reasons. So if anyone out there tries to suggest that you’re going too far by pointing out that Trump is a wannabe Hitler, just point out that Trump’s own former Chief of Staff says he heard Trump praising Hitler in the White House. Enough said.
