Why do powerful women scare the hell out of so many Republican men? Think about some of our best Democratic warriors. Nancy Pelosi. Hillary Clinton. Kamala Harris. Republicans hate all of them. Or rather they fear them. Hate after all often comes out of fear.

Gynophobia and Misogyny are often present in men who fear such women. Misogyny is defined as “hatred of, contempt for women.” Gynophobia is more of an irrational fear — or phobia of women that comes with strong anxiety toward women.

It is defined as a phobia. It is a Latin term and in the past was referred to as “horror feminae.” So what happens when BOTH are present? That could make for some uncomfortable situations. Do Republicans suffer from both conditions? I don’t know. I’m not a psychologist. But there can be no denying that some of them sure show symptoms of both conditions. And nobody shows it more than Donald John Trump.

Former Trump official Miles Taylor has a new book coming out. And in it, he speaks of the daily amount of hatred, hostility and sexism that were present in the Trump administration. One female worker reportedly said “This is not a healthy workplace for women.”

Trump aides say he spoke about women’s body parts in disgusting terminology and even directed that type of talk about his daughter, Ivanka. Trump reportedly used terms I will not repeat here as they’re utterly disgusting. Former Chief of Staff John Kelly reportedly rebuked Trump for that type of talk, saying later that Trump was “a very, very evil man.” Sexism was constantly present.

The name of this upcoming book is “Blowback: A warning to save Democracy from the next Trump.” Trump’s a misogynist. That we know. I’d argue he also might have Gynophobia as well, which isn’t the same thing. This is a pure terror of women — particularly strong women. This might be why Trump infantilizes women, treating them as THINGS rather than human beings.
