Donald Trump spent the weekend embarrassing himself in front of his supporters, but that’s really nothing new. The new part is that many of them walked out before he finished speaking. Trump traveled to Dayton, Ohio to speak on behalf of Bernie Moreno, who is running for the Senate. He seems to think having Trump’s endorsement will help him to win, even though Trump’s endorsement doesn’t hold the same power it once did. Nonetheless, Moreno followed his own (bad) judgment and ended up with a whole lot of nothing.

As the Independent reported, the rally was focused on everything but Moreno, but that’s not he worst news for Moreno and Trump. The Independent reported seeing one lone sign supporting Moreno. Instead of talking up Moreno as he should have, Trump spent his time talking about his favorite person-Donald Trump. Trump talked about his campaign and displayed his bitterness toward President Biden. He called his opponents “inhuman” and made his latest claim that the U.S. is being invaded by immigrants. This time, the “enemy,” according to Trump, is coming from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They are migrants, not immigrants. If you look up people from the Congo, you’ll find very few of them here, or much of anywhere else. According to the Migration Institute, the migration rate for Congo in 2023 was 0.000 per 1,0900 population. Even when they do migrate, most go to other areas of Africa. Leave it to Trump to find people with dark skin who his followers fear and hate to use for his lies.

Trump is the master of lies. It must be bad for a Fox host to fact check him. Newsweek reported that Trump appeared on Fox with Howard Kurtz, who promptly asked Trump if he supported a nationwide ban after 16 weeks of pregnancy. Trump went on to brag about his appointments to the Supreme Court and how they overturned Roe v. Wade. He then went on to claim that Democrats support abortions “after birth.” That would be murder, nor abortion, but Trump doesn’t seem to understand the most rudimentary of conversations. Trump said: “… Democrats are the radicals on this issue because it’s okay to have an abortion in seven, eight, nine months and even after birth. We want to help women with Roe.” That’s laughable. Republicans don’t want to help women. That’s why even as they strive to ban abortion, they are taking away assistance for women with children. How is that helping women? At least Kurtz had the balls to tell Trump he was wrong about his claims.

CNN also fact-checked Trump during his Ohio rally when he claimed he “outwitted Democrats” by “releasing the tape” of his blackmail call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. This story is a total lie. Calls with foreign leaders are never taped but are, instead, monitored. One of the listeners on that call was Alexander Vindman, who ended up giving testimony in Trump’s impeachment. The man is an unabashed liar who should never get near the White House again.
