It seems I’m always saying “Tucker Carlson has gone too far.” I say that often. I am sure many of you think that often. And yet he is still on the air. I doubt he will be OFF the air anytime soon. Carlson brings in the big bucks. He’s a ghoul, but for folks like the ones at Fox non-news, if he’s a profitable ghoul — so be it.

And yet we must not be subservient. We must not take Tucker’s hate lying down. We must continue to call it out. Tucker made the utterly treacherous suggestion that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy needs to be audited. And until he IS audited, says Tucker, America should cease sending all aide to him.

It takes a lot to make MY stomach turn. I’ve seen it all where politics is concerned. But the hate — the stupidity and ignorance — of these words burned. I felt fury. Tucker also appeared to take delight in mocking his critics during the same show. “Ooh, shut up, that’s Russian disinformation,” he gurgled.

People who indoctrinate like Tucker deserve to be yanked from the air. I will stand proud when I say — that Tucker Carlson is a terrorist. He is a traitor. He should not have a show.

But I also must admit something about our great country that I don’t like admitting.

And that is this — we have many more like him than we often admit — many more people who feel the same as Tucker. They think the same, think the same, and talk the same.

It is so easy to gaze at the world through vivid rose-colored glasses. But sometimes, those glasses must come off, and we have to admit things we do not like admitting.

The viewers are every bit as responsible for this as the Fox host. They WANT this hate propaganda. They NEED this propaganda. Perhaps it satisfies some primitive need within them, some dark hole of raging resentment that’s been festering.

If there were no need, there would not be a Tucker show. As great as our country is — and it is mighty great — it also has many problems. It is far from perfect.

We share the country with racists. We dine with them perhaps or shop with them or work with them. They’re all over. So let’s move forward aware of what we’re up against. And hope that good can triumph over the evil that Tucker and his ilk cause daily.
