There’s something wrong with James Comer
It’s funny. I looked up at the stars above the other night, and they seemed to be smiling. I’ve always had a deep fascination with the stars above. When I was a child, I thought the souls of the departed each became their own star. And in the classic story “The Little Prince,” the quote is: “It’s the stars; they always make me laugh.”
Starlight is one of the great mysteries of the world. For many, they wink and sparkle, gaze down, and smile, offering wisdom, mystery, and laughter. The other night, perhaps the stars aligned. And perhaps their laughter, like millions of others, was at Republican James Comer.
“Running for the hills!” This is from Joe Scarborough, who appeared helpless to contain his laughter about the Kentucky representative. “He (Comer) says come to our committee, so Hunter says OKAY,” Joe said. “Now they (Republicans) don’t want the American people to see what Hunter Biden has to say! They’ve been spraying BS for a year about this guy!”
Folks, yes, it has come to this. EVERYBODY — EVERYBODY — is laughing at James Comer. Over the hills and far away, people laugh. On social media, many are HYSTERICAL. Comer is doing a heck of a job showing the American people it is Democrats who have what it takes to run this country.
This all came about because Hunter called his bluff and agreed to testify publicly. Comer likely did NOT expect that. He refused to do it in public. So perhaps that is why he’s now a walking-talking joke. Even some in the media are reporting on this. Here are some headlines:
“Hunter Biden offers to testify for Comer. Is GOP chicken?’
“Right-wing chatter and overheated insinuations.”
“Republicans fear sunlight.”
“Comer is flailing.”
“Running for the hills!”
“Epic humiliation.” (My favorite of these headlines.)
“GOP mocked for rejecting Hunter Biden’s offer to testify.”
Ah, yes. These headlines are certainly not what Republicans want. Meanwhile, the GOP has slipped once again into fighting between its own members. Of all people, Josh Hawley says he agrees any Hunter Biden testimony should be public, plunging the GOP once again into disagreement.
Hunter Biden is quite intelligent. Simply by agreeing to testify publicly, he has made the GOP subject of humiliating headlines. Perhaps if Mike Johnson doesn’t work out, The GOP should voter for Hunter Biden for Speaker. He certainly is walking rings around ANY Republican.
Democrats lack maturity. This was Comer attempting to explain why the testimony should only be behind closed doors. He thinks the Democrats lack maturity and restraint. So of course, now the GOP has yet another problem on their hands.
The GOP should really think about sitting Comer down, looking him in the eye and gently telling him that he’s insane. It’d be some tough love. Comer really could use some brutal honesty at this point because all he’s brought his own party is derision.
