The big right wing freakout is underway over how thoroughly President Biden is nailing it

President Joe Biden addressed the nation Thursday evening on the U.S. response to Hamasโ€™s terrorist attack against Israel and Russiaโ€™s ongoing โ€œbrutal warโ€ against Ukraine. Rather than offer meaningless bluster as we are used to hearing from Republicans, Biden spoke intelligibly and convincingly about the realities of the unfolding situation and what his administration is doing to address them effectively.

How good was Bidenโ€™s speech? It was so good, apparently, that Newsmax couldnโ€™t bear to sit there and let viewers continue watching it. Merely a third of the way into Bidenโ€™s 15-minute speech, host Eric Bolling had enough. Cutting out of the live feed, Bolling complained, โ€œWe really wanted to hear some American resolve. We wanted to hear the American president talk to the world and make it very clear that we Americans arenโ€™t going to put up with what happened in Israel.โ€

In the brief minutes that this key address aired on Newsmax, Biden stressed the importance of this moment as an โ€œinflection point in history.โ€ He condemned Hamas as a โ€œterrorist groupโ€ that โ€œunleashed pure, unadulterated evil in the world,โ€ whose โ€œstated purpose for existing is the destruction of the State of Israel and the murder of Jewish people.โ€ Biden made clear that Israelโ€™s and Ukraineโ€™s success is โ€œvital for Americaโ€™s securityโ€ and if Hamas and Putin โ€œdonโ€™t pay a price,โ€ then โ€œchaos and death and more destructionโ€ will ensue.

Biden wasnโ€™t done showing โ€œsome American resolve,โ€ as Bolling snarkily put it. Immediately after Newsmax cut away, Biden issued a stark warning about what would happen โ€œif we turn our backs on Israelโ€ or โ€œwe walk away from Ukraine.โ€ Biden emphasized that American leadership, alliances, and values guides the world to productive, safe resolutions, and that giving up on either nation means we โ€œput all that at risk.โ€ With Israel, Biden insisted that the United States must ensure that โ€œthey have what they need to protect their people today and always.โ€

Had Newsmax allowed Bidenโ€™s entire speech to air, Bolling and his viewers would also have heard Biden further caution that โ€œtime is of the essence.โ€ Biden warned that, despite partisan politics, the United States โ€œcannot and will not let terrorists like Hamas and tyrants like Putin win,โ€ insisting that โ€œI refuse to let that happen.โ€

Newsmax may pretend otherwise, but the truth is that Biden said exactly what Bolling claims he failed to say, and Biden did it in a convincing and powerful way. Newsmax interrupted Bidenโ€™s live feed with nonsensible lies because the network couldnโ€™t stand letting Bidenโ€™s outstanding leadership continue being on full display to the American public. Yes, Bidenโ€™s speech was that good.
