Ted Lieu just destroyed John Durham to his face

The John Durham probe was never going to go anywhere or have any impact on anything. It was always just Bill Barr’s way of making Donald Trump think that the people who investigated the Trump-Russia scandal were somehow going to be punished. Now Durham’s probe has ended with a whimper, as expected, and yet House Republicans still inexplicably decided to have him testify in a public hearing.

House Democrat Ted Lieu seized the opportunity to destroy John Durham to his face:

Ted Lieu summed it up best when he said “I don’t actually know what we’re doing here.” The Durham probe was a non-event that went nowhere and changed nothing, just like it was always going to be. The only thing that stands out is that House Republicans are so out of ideas, they decided to hold a Durham hearing even though they knew it would go poorly for them. At least we’ll probably never have to hear from, or about, John Durham again after today.
