Putin’s war, unprovoked and craven, has caused many consequences to arise as the result of his barbaric actions. One of those consequences has to do with Finland. Finland is not a current member of NATO. But there is a new poll out. And this poll signals a “massive political shift.”

It would seem that Putin’s war has caused many Fins to look at NATO in a new light. Because according to this poll, a majority of Fins now appear open to joining NATO. Putin would, of course, be enraged. He has repeatedly warned Finland not to contemplate joining and said there would be “serious military and political consequences if they did join.”

The Finnish Business and Policy Forum did this poll. And it found 60% of those questioned supported a move to join NATO. In previous surveys, only about 34% backed joining NATO. It does not take much to provoke Putin these days, but a move such as this would surely enrage the mass murderer.

Nonetheless, Sanna Marin, the prime minister of Finland, says there are going to be discussions about joining. She also promised these discussions would happen soon. “We’re moving quickly, although these discussions will be thorough.” And former PM Alexander Stubb had this to say:

“The train has left the station. Finland is moving toward full NATO membership. It’s not gonna to happen next week, but it will eventually happen.” I believe it will as well. By waging a war of hate against a beautiful and free nation, Putin has destroyed the trust of his neighbors.

Few think he could ever be taken at his word about anything, and his horrible actions have brought other countries closer. All of our different nations are luminary. They each sparkle with their own light. And it stands to reason these countries would like to remain free. And it also stands to reason they would want allies and protection.

Putin has forever changed the way some countries such as Finland view NATO. Instead of breaking the world apart, he has brought all the different lights together, united in their disgust at him, bound in their love of freedom.
