Donald Trump’s senility has been growing steadily more severe for about three years now. Anyone who paid close attention to his occasional appearances was able to see it. But now that he’s appearing in public more often, it’s becoming more obvious to everyone. Well, almost everyone. The media is only willing to mention Trump’s senility occasionally, even though it’s arguably the biggest political story of 2023.

But as so often ends up being the case, the comedians are willing to go there before the actual news. Tonight, Saturday Night Live opened the show with a sketch in which a fictional Donald Trump tried to mock his adversaries but instead ended up admitting that he’s going senile. The Trump character admitted that he’s now prone to constantly saying things like “I’m beating Obama.”

The sketch also mocked Trump for being absent from the primary debates because he’s too tied up in his criminal trials. He then whined about the fact that his kids are being forced to testify against him, adding that “It’ll be very sad when I pin it all on one of them.”

The SNL sketch wasn’t funny, but that doesn’t really matter. The point is that if Donald Trump’s senility has gotten so severe and obvious that even Saturday Night Live is mocking him for it, then it’s a matter of time before the media does its job and finishes Trump off.
