Seriously, stop talking about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Over the past month Robert Kennedy Jr. and/or his initials have seemingly been trending on social media every other day. If you dare to click through, you see that roughly 95% of the tweets about Kennedy are anti-Kennedy. It’s clear that he has no actual support base, and that nearly everyone talking about him is just panicked over the damage he might do.

There’s panicked doomsday hysteria about how Kennedy’s fringe 2024 campaign is somehow going to cause unspecified “damage.” There’s even more hysteria out there about how Kennedy’s campaign is supposedly a counter op from the likes of Steve Bannon or Roger Stone, and therefore it’s definitely going to cause damage. Then there are the earnest attempts at “debunking” every line of conspiracy theory gibberish that comes out of Kennedy’s mouth.

What most people don’t get is that whenever right wing operatives line up behind some fringe faux-leftist candidate, it’s never an attempt at influencing an election or changing the outcome. It’s not about causing “damage.” It’s only ever about MAKING MONEY for themselves. People like Bannon and Stone aren’t out there trying to advance some right wing cause because they’re true believers in right wing ideology. These things are about money for them.

It’s such an easy game to play. All that these right wing political operatives have to do is hype some fringe anti-government conspiracy theorist candidate in the name of bucking the system, and the broken-brained anti-government conspiracy theorists out there will give these operatives money. The money doesn’t even go to the fringe candidate. It goes to the operatives. That’s why people like Bannon and Stone do what they do: to line their own pockets.

To that end, their strategy consists entirely of tying to bait you into spending all day making social media posts that are critical of that candidate. You earnestly think that by “debunking” Kennedy and calling him out, you’re somehow helping the public discourse. But all you’re really doing is amplifying Kennedy’s name. You’re the ones making him trend by saying obsessively bashing him. You’re the one who’s allowing right wing operatives to say to their gullible followers, “Look, the establishment is so scared of RFK Jr., they’re making him trend again. Now we’ve got them right where we want them! Send us some more money so we can keep baiting the establishment into making RFK trend!”

It’s a vicious cycle. The more you talk about Kennedy – in any context – the more you’re unwittingly helping the Steve Bannons of the world to line their pockets. It’s why there’s only one solution: STOP TALKING ABOUT ROBERT F. KENNEDY. Just stop talking about him.

95% of this guy’s oxygen is coming from your attempts at debunking him! Again, you can see that just by clicking on his name whenever he’s trending. He’s always trending because of you. His supporters are never making him trend, because he doesn’t really have any to begin with. He’s just a means to an end for some bottom feeding internet trash who want to get under your skin, and some greedy political operatives who want to fleece these losers out of their money.

All you have to do is take a moment to think it through logically, and you’ll realize that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will have zero impact on this election. President Biden isn’t going to have to run a primary campaign against this guy. Biden will win the 2024 Democratic primary nomination by seventy points or more. Accordingly, the DNC isn’t going to force Biden to get on stage with some untreated mental patient like RFK Jr. It’s just not going to happen.

Of course this will cause the conspiracy theorists out there to just start claiming that the DNC is part of the conspiracy against them. But then again, these types always manage to rope the DNC into every one of their unhinged hallucinations. And you gain nothing by defending the DNC, because these types will just take that as a sign that they’re getting to you. And then the Steve Bannons of the world will just use that as an excuse to get these conspiracy theorists to give them even more money.

Again, Robert F. Kennedy will play zero role in this election. That’s a foregone conclusion. The right wing operatives who are hyping him are solely doing it so they can make money off the conspiracy whack job losers who are attracted to this kind of anti-establishment dumpster fire. And whenever you take the bait and start yet another round of “debunking” Kennedy, you’re directly helping Kennedy. For the last time, simply STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM.

Actually there’s more to it than that. Whenever right wing operatives spin up a shitshow like the Kennedy campaign, one of their goals is to make it such a ratings-friendly shitshow, the mainstream media can’t resist the urge to start covering it. We’re already seeing major news outlets periodically hyping Kennedy as some kind of spoiler who could cause – wait for it – unspecified “damage” in the 2024 election. It’s funny how they can never specify what this supposed damage is, because there isn’t any. It’s obvious he’ll have no impact. But the media sure is hoping to waste the next year and a half of your life by scaring you into thinking that Kennedy and his operatives have magical powers for causing “damage” to this next election.

Your job is to not just stop talking about Robert F. Kennedy. Your job is also to tell the media to go screw itself whenever it tries to claim that Kennedy will somehow be a factor in this election. Don’t take the bait. Don’t begin “debunking” Kennedy. Simply tell the media that you know Kennedy won’t play any role in this election, and that you don’t want to hear the media talking about him anymore. If enough of you do that, the media will move on.

Some of you will read this article and decide that, no, you have to be out there “debunking” Robert F. Kennedy every day. But rest assured, you’re only doing two things. One, you’re encouraging the media to keep hyping this guy. Two, you’re helping to line the pockets of the Steve Bannons of the world. If those don’t sound like beneficial things, then STOP TALKING ABOUT ROBERT KENNEDY.
