Earlier today, Roger Stone’s longtime associate Jerome Corsi publicly confirmed that he’s negotiating a plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller. At the time, Palmer Report pointed out that, for all his usual huffing and puffing about every other potential Trump-Russia witness against him, Stone has never so much as mentioned Corsi one way or the other. Now Stone is finally reacting to Corsi, and it reveals that he’s more than a bit worried.

Roger Stone issued a lengthy and frantic sounding statement to CNN this afternoon, in which he asserted that Jerome Corsi is under a lot of “pressure” from Robert Mueller. Stone also insisted that if Corsi did know that WikiLeaks was about to publish the emails that Russian hackers had stolen from the DNC and John Podesta, he didn’t tell Stone about it. This is, of course, nonsense.

Before WikiLeaks published Podesta’s emails, Roger Stone famously bragged on Twitter that it was about to be Podesta’s time in the barrel. Unless Stone has ESP, someone with inside information – Corsi or otherwise – had to have told him what was coming. That means Stone was a conspirator in the international criminal plot to steal and release the emails, in an attempt at altering the out coming of the election.

The key here is that, as various legal analysts are pointing out, Roger Stone appears to have admitted in his statement that he’s been in communication with Jerome Corsi about the Trump-Russia scandal. That’s a rather dumb admission to make, because now Robert Mueller can simply ask Corsi to recite whatever he discussed with Stone. This could get Stone nailed for witness tampering on top of everything else.
