President Joe Biden unloads on Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz – and it’s part of a broader strategy

When President Joe Biden announced this week that the federal government will forgive up to $10,000 in student loan debt for people with lower incomes, the Republican Party pushed back with a narrative about how anyone who takes out a loan should have to repay it.

Of course that’s the height of hypocrisy coming from some of these deadbeat Republicans, and now Biden and his team are using the official White House Twitter account to fight back. Check out some of these tweets:

.

It’s remarkable that Biden is going there. And yet this isn’t coming from out of the blue. There are two factors at play here. The first is that, as the Democratic Party leadership has long been trying to tell us, the key to winning the midterms is to push the most embarrassing House Republicans like Greene and Gaetz out front, and then force every House Republican seeking reelection in a moderate district to explain why their party hasn’t expelled these creeps. What we’re seeing from the White House Twitter account today is merely an extension of what Biden, the DNC, and leading Democratic Party voices have been saying for the past year and a half.

The second factor at play here is that Biden and the Democrats now know for certain that they can gain more support than they lose by being this blatant about things. When Democratic candidate Pat Ryan ran in the NY-19 House special election, he was loudly pro choice, loudly pro gun control, loudly anti Trump, and against right wing extremism, and he won in a moderate swing district. This was a test case, and now the Democrats now have confirmation that average voters in the middle really do want the Democrats to be brazen when it comes to these things.

So we shouldn’t be surprised at all that Biden is dunking on the most embarrassing House Republican creeps, and we shouldn’t be all that surprised that he’s doing it so brazenly. The voters spoke in NY-19 on Tuesday. Even moderate districts want the Democrats throwing these kinds of punches, and so we’re going to see more of it.
