Send in the clowns. Peter Navarro’s back in the news! Navarro (can’t read the room, insurrection party, maybe prison) was trying to get his upcoming trial postponed. Now many people have done that in the past. But I highly doubt they have used the excuse that Peter Rabbit did.

Navarro not-so-eloquently explained to a Federal Judge that the trial just has to be moved! The reason he cited was — he will be out and about — on the road — promoting his book. Yes, really.

Navarro, who has pleaded not guilty, is planning to publish a book nobody will read. And he apparently thinks highly enough of himself that he wants the Judge to halt proceedings — until he’s back from his book tour. Say it with me, please! you just can’t make this shit up.

Navarro appeared to be serious as his attorney all but begged the Judge to delay the trial until April. Need I say — it didn’t work? Peter Navarro’s trial is set for November –a great month for a trial if you ask me!

Navarro was obviously unhappy about this and appeared peeved that his grand plan did not move the Judge. Twitter erupted with delight upon hearing this news, and prison memes appeared to be the order of the day. Many on social media wondered why Navarro thought such a plan could ever work.

I submit it is because Peter is his own biggest fan. Nobody loves Peter more than Peter. And the fact that he might soon be heading for prison has not appeared to sink in yet. Perhaps now it will, but this IS Peter Navarro so I wouldn’t hold my breath.
