Donald Trump’s parade just got rained on
Donald Trump is now insisting on Twitter that it’s okay that he’s way behind in the polls, because his minority of voters are more “enthusiastic.” It’s not clear if he actually believes that means they can vote for him twice, or what. But Trump’s handlers are working overtime to try to convince Trump that he’s not actually losing.
For instance, the @TrumpWarRoom account on Twitter – which is officially run by the Trump 2020 campaign – tweeted on Sunday that “There has NEVER been a boat parade for Joe Biden!” This sounds like something that a parody account would tweet, or something that the Resistance would throw in Trump’s face in order to make fun of how little he understands about how any of this works.
But no, this is something that Donald Trump’s own handlers are actually tweeting, because they think it’ll cheer Trump up and convince him he’s secretly winning while his poll numbers collapse. It’s clear that, even with the recent swap-out in campaign managers, the Trump 2020 campaign still exists to blow smoke up Donald Trump’s backside, rather than to try to actually win the election.
