Oh what a tangled web they weave!

The press service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) recently disclosed that a Verkhovna Rada Deputy — that is, a member of Ukraine’s parliament — is under arrest for suspicion of treason. The report follows a joint agency investigation that included recent searches of the suspect’s residence.

While the SBU does not explicitly name the suspect, he is thought to be Oleksandr Dubinsky, a known associate of Rudy Giuliani, back in the days when Rudy was in Ukraine doing skullduggery on behalf of Donald Trump. Sources from law enforcement agencies confirm Dubinsky’s alleged involvement. Blurred photos that accompany a report purportedly are of Dubinsky.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Dubinsky was the individual behind the manufacture (from whole cloth) of the Hunter Biden Burisma so-called “scandal.” We will have to see where things lead as the case unfolds in Ukraine.

What implications could the case against Dubinsky have? The implications could be massive as things proceed. But the most truly staggering implication of all could be that the Ukraine investigation might prove that the entire absurd Republican investigation of Hunter Biden was a complete and deliberate scam from the very beginning, created by Russia in order to politically disrupt the United States with internecine conflict. And it could all be proven in a Ukrainian court of law!

In other words, the relentless persecution of Hunter Biden by Republicans might not merely turn out to be a waste of time, it might have had its roots in Russian espionage. In one of the twenty-first century’s most supreme ironies, it could result in the arrest, prosecution and imprisonment of Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump for the whole Hunter Biden fiasco. Ranking member of the House Oversight Committee James Comer could also end up as a target for prosecution in this matter.

What are the chances of all these Republican prosecutions ultimately happening? It’s unknown at this time. But when you consider the colossal resources that Republicans have squandered in the headlong pursuit of Hunter Biden, an inoffensive man whose only sin is his struggle with addiction, it would be more than fitting that his tormentors should suddenly become the tormented.

Even if no Republicans wind up being prosecuted, we should all take a moment to relish their agony at the possibility and the destruction of their reputations as a result of trying to destroy the life of the President’s son. They did it for tawdry political purposes, but their prosecution would be done in the name of justice.

Rarely is justice more poetic, and Republicans have none to blame but themselves for this tangled web of irony they have woven. In the end, by relentlessly pursuing Hunter Biden, they may have destroyed themselves. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
