George Santos is out, but who’s in – and when? We’re now getting some firm answers about what the special election to replace Santos will look like. It’ll take place on February 13th, 2024. And now we know with certainty who the Democratic nominee is.

The Democratic Party nominee is officially Tom Suozzi, a former member of Congress who previously retired but is now back in the game. There had been an expectation that the nominee would be Anna Kaplan, but that didn’t happen, and yesterday she suspended her campaign and endorsed Suozzi.

So now we know who to get behind. Tom Suozzi it is – and we have just over two months to help make sure Suozzi and the Democratic Party win this special election. This race is rated “Lean Democrat” by Cook Political Report. This means the Democrats have a slight edge, but it’s still expected to be a close race that could come down to a point or two.

As I’ve previously said, not only do we need to win this race, we should try to run up the score. The best way for us to put the media’s “Democrats are doomed in 2024” narrative to bed is to win this special election by a sizable margin. So now is the time to sign up on Tom Suozzi’s campaign website, follow and retweet Tom Suozzi on Twitter, and donate to Tom Suozzi’s campaign.
