More good news for Joe Biden

The July 2022 Bureau of Labor Statistics showed a picture of a solid economy, contrary to the low expectations of both economists and right-wingers trying to accuse the Biden administration of excessive and unnecessary spending. The problem is that the GOP wants it both ways: They want to be able to take credit for solid jobs numbers, but they also want to blame Biden for the poor economy.

Therefore, they’re doing the “baffle with bullshit” approach by saying that the states gaining the most new jobs are Republican-led states, but also trying to delude their base into believing there’s still a recession, as per Elise Stefanik’s inane tweet from last week.

The average unemployment rate for the country is around 3.5% but the latest report shows that in 22 out of 50 states, the unemployment rate has dipped under 3% since July. That’s a historic record – achieved for the first time under the leadership of President Biden, who inherited an economy still in recovery from a failed pandemic response.

These results are coming even with legislation trimmed back from what Democrats hoped to deliver to the American people and the solution has never been clearer: give President Biden and Chuck Schumer a larger majority in the Senate in 2022 while retaining the House and they’ll be able to accomplish even more, with a thriving economy by the time 2024 rolls around. Rather than record spending, these are investments made in clean energy jobs and infrastructure.
