Donald Trump flips out as Mitt Romney sticks it to him
Whatever you think of Mitt Romney overall, he’s the one Republican Senator who had the decency to vote to convict and remove Donald Trump from office. Romney also took a stand during today’s coronavirus hearings, calling Trump out on the woefully insufficient testing.
For his part, Donald Trump isn’t exactly taking it well. He retweeted a profoundly disturbing cartoon image today of a number of Democratic politicians holding torches, pitchforks, and nooses, along with the caption “Democrats Continue Torching America.” Bizarrely, Mitt Romney was one of the “Democrats” pictured, and he appeared to be holding a two by four in one hand and an iPad in the other (some have suggested it may be a Bible instead).
We’re not going to post the disturbing imagery, but you can find it here if you’re morbidly curious. The point is that Donald Trump is so far gone, he’s reduced to tweeting this kind of idiotic garbage instead of focusing on things that could actually help his election prospects. These kinds of tweets might make his deranged base smile, but they’re already voting for him anyway, and this stuff certainly won’t gain Trump any of the additional votes he needs.
