Let’s meet Donald Trump’s new Judge – the man who will be presiding over his Georgia trial. The judge’s name is Scott McAfee. He is an interesting man with quite an interesting past. Scott was born in Georgia. He has had a career consisting mostly of serving as both a Prosecutor and State Inspector.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has spoken quite highly of him, saying he’s a “strong addition to his administration.” Scott’s experience is that of a tough prosecutor prosecuting many drug and fraud crimes. He has also prosecuted, as assistant United States County Attorney in the northern district of Georgia, lots of murder cases.

He has also worked as Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Fulton County Atalanta circuit. He is running for re-election in 2024, in a highly Democratic county. He was appointed to the bench by Kemp in February of 2023.

Interesting tidbit — in June, he was the one who fined Lin Wood, who, if you remember, was a Trump attorney. Wood was in contempt of court. “I can’t overlook the protracted and flagrant nature of the violation,” McAfee said in his ruling.

Scott McAfee graduated from the University of Georgia Law School in the year 2013. He attended Emory University– a school known for its women-friendly attitude in 2010. He actually earned a scholarship because of his talent for playing the cello which he did in the college orchestra.

McAfee is married and a father of two. He is an avid scuba diver. He also acts as a volunteer scuba diver to this day. He is also a musician and a cellist. And he plays tennis. This is one interesting Judge we have here, people! And although he is relatively new to the bench, this is one talented man, and he is the one who will hold Trump’s fate in his hands.
