With a negligent and doddering Donald Trump showing no leadership of any kind during the coronavirus crisis, and his daily press conferences becoming increasingly calamitous, his surrogates and allies are left to try to mop up for him. GOP Congressman Matt Gaetz stepped up to the plate on Thursday night – and struck out wildly.

Matt Gaetz appeared on Fox News up against democratic strategist Chris Hahn, who proceeded to simply destroy him:

Gaetz famously wore an oversized gas mask on the House floor during the coronavirus crisis, which most people interpreted as a sick joke. Gaetz was later quarantined after it was feared that he’d been exposed to coronavirus himself. Gaetz is back in action now, but after what just happened to him on Fox News, he’s probably wishing he’d stayed home.
