Mark Meadows and Rudy Giuliani are going to prison

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has given somewhat lenient plea deals to people like Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, and Jenna Ellis, so that their testimony can be used to help secure convictions against the biggest of fish. The question has been, who are the big fish in Willis’ eyes? Who, beyond Donald Trump himself, does she plan to send to prison?

Now we’re getting that answer. Fani Willis is not interested in giving plea deals to Mark Meadows, or Rudy Giuliani, according to the Guardian. This means that no matter what evidence or testimony these two guys might be willing to offer against Trump, they’re still not getting deals. They’re simply going to be convicted at trial, and they’re going to prison.

This isn’t surprising. Giuliani was arguably Trump’s biggest henchman in the Georgia election plot. Giuliani is also too much of a lying, babbling buffoon to be seen as a credible witness even if he did flip. Meadows might have been able to get a deal, but then he got caught lying under oath while trying to get his trial moved to federal court. There was no way Willis was going to trust Meadows after that.

So there you have it. Everyone else in Fulton County still has the option to cut a plea deal. But Donald Trump, Mark Meadows, and Rudy Giuliani are going to be put on trial no matter what, and if convicted, sent to prison for several years.
