Liz Truss goes full MAGA
It was not exactly a “Love, Actually” moment. Liz Truss, the former part time British prime minister and full time fool, whose premiership lasted a whopping 4 Scaramuccis and 5 days, went full MAGA this weekend.
En route to Washington DC, Truss opined that, “Joe Biden must be voted out of the White House to make the world safer.” Safer from what? She doesn’t say. But then, she doesn’t need to say it, does she? In the world of wholly uncritical acceptance of all things MAGA, the cretins who will be parroting this rubbish don’t need to know the reasons. The truth of the matter is there are no reasons. Joe Biden is not making the world unsafe.
Liz Truss, who almost made Britain unlivable in the short time of her disastrous premiership, is what Britain would look like if we were full blown MAGA over here. The good news is we are not. She is an aberration, a joke, a public embarrassment, a screwup of unbelievable proportions.
Her own party threw her the hell out of office because she very nearly tanked the British economy. In a time of extreme economic hardship she tried doing what the Republicans succeeded in doing in America in 2017. She tried lowering taxes for the rich bastards who gave her the premiership. That got unpopular in a hurry and she rescinded the tax cut, but was thrown out on her ass after just 49 days in office.
The BBC reports that Truss expressed her hope that the Republican candidate wins next year in what could be seen as an endorsement of Donald Trump. Whoever the candidate turns out to be, the Democratic candidate will certainly be President Joe Biden, who should have little difficulty securing a second term.
The BBC added that Biden is running “despite his ill-health and age.” Excuse me? Despite his “ill-health” did they say? What ill-health is that? I’ve seen some of these middle-aged reporters who work for the BBC. Pardon me, but they look like they could use a five-year gym membership. Joe Biden, on the other hand, is in excellent health for his age or any age. He eats right and exercises daily. That’s more than I could say for some of them. That’s a lot more than I could say for Donald Trump, who is a mental and physical wreck.
Liz Truss is clearly unqualified to comment on the news and the BBC is occasionally unqualified to report it. The good news is that they are not the norm here. The vast majority of Britons hate Trump. They hate Republicans, deplore the fascist tendencies in Europe and are prepared to march to the sound of gunfire in order to protect democracy.
We don’t have a Trump problem or a MAGA problem over here yet, and that’s the way most of us intend to keep it. We hope the same for America.
