One of my hobbies happens to be the fifty states. I am the ultimate geography nerd, and reading about and studying the fifty states and United States territories is a passion of mine. And one thing that can apply to ALL the states? They all have their own cultures.

It’s true. There are things you will find in Arizona that you won’t find anywhere else, likewise, for Maine, California, Maryland, Texas, and ALL the states. States are essentially like fifty different planets, all with their own rules, idiosyncrasies, and customs. Lauren Boebert does not know Colorado. This is what her Republican competitors in Colorado’s fourth district are saying.

As you know, Boenbert abandoned her district to run in a much more conservative one. One question I have seen lots of is: Doesn’t she have to LIVE there first before she can even run there? The answer to that question is no.

However, she does have to KNOW a bit about where she is running. According to many, she has not the first clue about the 4th district. Rep. Ken Buck is retiring there. There are already six people running. Many are saying she has no idea what she is getting into. And CBS News Colorado Political analyst Dick Wadhams agrees.

“People don’t like people moving into a district just to run,” he says. Indeed, they do not. Colorado especially doesn’t like this. Again, it comes back to state culture. I have spent time in Colorado. One of my closest friends is FROM Colorado. If there is one thing the people of Colorado are, it’s fiercely independent. They are also well-educated and they can see through bullshit.

So Boebert is going in with a target on her back. She is starting the race with extreme vulnerability. That vulnerability is insincerity. I doubt many people think Boebert gives a damn about the fourth district. She Just knows she probably could not win in her original district.

And some of her competitors are already capitalizing on Boebert’s actions: “I look forward to welcoming Lauren to the fourth district and representing her in congress. I’ve lived, worked and raised my family here and I’m blessed to have ALWAYS called Eastern Colorado home.” These words are from one of her competitors, Jerry Sonnenberg.

“Does she think we’re that stupid?” This comes from Colorado State Rep Richard Holtorf. In other words — for Boebert, this little plan of hers is easier said than done. I am not so sure she will win the primary. I think she may have a VERY difficult time.

“Colorado has always been a good place to find what you’re made of.” This quote is from former Colorado Governor and current Senator John Hickenlooper. We’ll find out what Boebert is made of in this race. But one thing her voters are NOT made of? Stupidity. That is why this race of Boebert’s may not turn out the way she expects.
