Donald Trump has deranged late night meltdown as the walls come crashing down on him

Just how bad have things gotten for Donald Trump? All he has to do is tweet anything about the economy, and the stock market goes tumbling. Every time he opens his mouth, he sounds even more incoherent and mentally incompetent than ever. And even the wealthy Republicans seem pissed that Trump is coming between them and their money.

So what is Donald Trump doing to try to turn things around for himself? He’s ranting and raving in lunatic fashion, of course. Thus far this evening, Trump has declared that CNN, NBC, the Associated Press, and even his once-beloved Fox News are all “fake news.” He’s ranting about Jussie Smollett for no apparent reason. He’s making inappropriate jokes about how the stock market went off a cliff today. It gets worse.

Trump has spent significant Twitter time tonight insisting that his historically embarrassing poll numbers are somehow “fake news” and that he’s actually very popular. He’s heaping praise on punchlines like Lou Dobbs, Diamond & Silk, and Louie Gohmert, because those are just about the only people who are still defending him.

These aren’t the words and sentiments of a guy who has a plan, or even the will, to try to turn things around for himself. There is no evil genius master plan here. There’s just an erratic and unstable loser who’s in freefall, and is clinging to denial and delusion as a last resort.
