Kimberly Guilfoyle’s testimony to the January 6th Committee is a total dumpster fire

Yesterday, Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle decided to voluntarily testify to the January 6th Committee. There was no way this was going to go well for her, of course. But it ended up being a dumpster fire for the ages.

Apparently Guilfoyle was so unprepared for her testimony, she actually thought she was only going to be speaking with committee staffers. When she realized the actual committee members were involved, she reportedly threw a fit and abruptly ended the testimony before it could even begin.

There are almost no words to describe how weird this is. Imagine being a material witness and potentially a suspect in a criminal conspiracy to overthrow an election, and when a congressional committee asks you to testify about it, you’re so unprepared, you’re shocked to find that members of that committee are participating in your testimony. That’s like walking into a police station and being shocked to find that the people working there are police officers.

Notably, CBS News says that Kimberly Guilfoyle only agreed to testify yesterday because the committee told her it would subpoena her if she didn’t. Well, now she’s certainly getting subpoenaed – and because she’s declared war on the committee, she won’t be getting any white glove treatment. If her next step after being subpoeaned is anything other than showing up and providing fully cooperative testimony, the committee will refer her for prosecution for criminal contempt, and she’ll end up facing potential prison time.
