Everyone is taking their best guess about which senior White House official penned tonight’s New York Times op-ed which revealed that the Trump administration has been working against a mentally incompetent Donald Trump all along, and that the cabinet has considered invoking the 25th Amendment. Now a name has been promptly dragged into the mess which we didn’t see coming.

Earlier this evening, Palmer Report went through an exhaustive list of senior White House officials in an attempt at narrowing down the op-ed author’s identity. Suffice it to say that some people were easier to rule out than others, but there is no definitive way of confirming the author. Kellyanne Conway has largely been laying so low these days, we didn’t even think to include her in our rundown. But now she’s been dragged squarely into the op-ed controversy, by her own husband.

We’ve seen George Conway retweet a whole lot of negative things about Donald Trump over the past year, to the point that there’s no question he wants Trump gone. That makes for an awkward pairing, as Kellyanne Conway still holds a senior position in Trump’s White House. But while it’s one thing for George to keep taking shots at Trump, it’s another for him to have retweeted the New York Times op-ed from the White House senior official who’s actively trying to sabotage Trump from within. As if to erase any doubt, George then retweeted several other articles which support the op-ed.

So now we have a situation where, whether he intended to or not, George Conway just told us to take a look at whether Kellyanne Conway might have been the author of the 25th Amendment op-ed. There are a lot of people who think Mike Pence orchestrated all of this, so he can inherit the presidency. It’s worth pointing out that long before Kellyanne Conway went to work for Donald Trump, she did work for then-Governor Mike Pence.
