Well that all came together quickly, didn’t it? In South Carolina, the first real opportunity for black voters to have a voice in this race, Joe Biden thoroughly dominated – and all of his opponents did exceedingly poorly. This prompted Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar to quickly drop out. Now they’re both at Biden’s rally tonight so they can endorse him – and they’re not the only big names there.

Now that most of the field has exited the race, there are only four people left: Mike Bloomberg, a centrist who’s not even a real Democrat; Bernie Sanders, an erratic extremist who would surely find a way to lose to Trump; Elizabeth Warren, a highly impressive candidate who appears to have very little chance at the nomination thanks to Sanders’ presence in the race; and Joe Biden, a broadly popular and unifying figure.

So it’s not surprising to see mainstream Democrats and liberals coming out of the woodwork in support of Joe Biden, now that he’s the only desirable candidate who still has a real shot. Klobuchar and Buttigieg are being joined by former candidate Beto O’Rourke tonight at Biden’s rally, who has been out of the race for a long time, and has clearly been waiting for the field to shake out before deciding on his endorsement.

Online, we’re also seeing support strongly coalesce behind Joe Biden. Influential actress and activist Alyssa Milano, who up to now has been very diplomatic about the primary race, endorsed Biden today. Rosie O’Donnell, a vocal supporter of Elizabeth Warren, announced on Twitter today that she’s switching her vote to Biden because she believes it’s the best shot at stopping Trump.
