Joe Biden is already doing Donald Trump’s job for him
On February 23, 2020, a young black man was enjoying an unseasonably beautiful day by taking a jog through Brunswick, Georgia. He made the mistake of running through predominantly white Satilla Shores, seeking nothing more than working on his physical condition in a beautiful area. Little did he know that he was being stalked by a former police officer and investigator for the local DA and his son, both of whom were nothing more than white supremacists. They underestimated the power of the black community in Brunswick, and finally, they have been arrested and charged by the GBI. Now, the GBI needs to investigate the local authorities. The only crime Ahmaud Arbery committed was jogging while black in a white neighborhood. Welcome to Trumpland. We must tear it down and rebuild America, and Monmouth may be giving us good news for accomplishing that task.
The latest poll conducted by Monmouth University reveals Biden leading Trump 50% to 41% in a survey of registered voters. Biden’s lead has grown over the past two polls from March and April, both of which showed Biden leading 48% to 44% and 48% to 45%, respectively. These slowly changing numbers reveal that with each coronavirus bungle and each failure to condemn each white supremacist act, the tide slowly turns toward making America great again by ridding the world of “president” Donald Trump.
Did Donald Trump even address this murder? Please. He was too busy with his Twitter wars with the press, Republicans who are against him, and anything other than addressing this senseless crime. Biden, on the other hand, immediately Tweeted: “The video is clear: Ahmaud Arbery was killed in cold blood. My heart goes out to his family, who deserve justice and deserve it now. It is time for a swift, full, and transparent investigation into his murder.” Honestly, which candidate has America’s best interests at heart?
It is a very sad day in America when a young athlete can’t jog in his community without fear of being labeled a “burglary suspect,” hunted down like an animal, and shot just because he ran through a place some white supremacist thinks he didn’t belong. While supremacists belong nowhere. If they hate the diversity of America so much, they should get the hell out. Only closed-minded, ignorant people make judgments based on skin color. For the past three and one-half years, they have been supported and empowered by a “leader” in the White House who shares their feelings.
While new, better leadership is not going to change the behaviors they have embraced their entire lives, it will show them that they remain in the minority and their behavior is unacceptable by the rest of civilized society. This change is already underway if the Monmouth poll maintains its current trajectory. Even as some remain un-excited by Biden and some continue to consider Tara Reade’s allegations, the vast majority see this election as a referendum on Trump, as it should be. It is never too late to right this wrong.
