Joe Biden dunks on Donald Trump for “hiding in his basement”
Back when the 2020 election was taking place during the height of a pandemic, Joe Biden protected his supporters by doing a number of virtual events, even as Donald Trump got a number of his supporters killed just so he could give rally speeches. This prompted Trump and his people to accuse Biden of “hiding in his basement” even though it wasn’t true.
Fast forward four years, and President Biden is now actively on the campaign trail, touring the country and hitting swing states. But Donald Trump has descended so deeply into dementia that his people won’t let him hold rallies anymore.
To that end, the Biden campaign is now dunking on Trump for “hiding in his basement”:

Here’s what stands out. Trump made few public appearances in 2021, 2022, and 2023, but he came across as increasingly senile whenever he did occasionally surface. It was obvious to anyone paying close attention that Trump was headed for full blown dementia, and wouldn’t be able to function by the time he tried to resurface in 2024. This was why Trump’s people tried so hard in 2021, 2022, and 2023 to falsely portray Biden as senile and in hiding: they were trying to muddy the waters before everyone figured out that Trump was going senile and was going to end up in hiding.
But there’s no getting around it at this point. Trump thoroughly embarrasses himself whenever he’s in public, and he’s all but disappeared from the campaign trail, thus allowing Biden to call attention to it. Now the media just needs to do its job and acknowledge that Trump is indeed hiding in his basement because he’s too senile to be on the campaign trail.
