If this looks familiar it’s because it is. Three women who served in Donald Trump’s nefarious White House, who were previously card-carrying members of the MAGA bandwagon, are now warning against a possible second Trump term. One even went so far as to say that another four years of Trump could mean “the end of American democracy as we know it.”

Former White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah Griffin, former White House deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews and former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson all sat down with ABC News’ “This Week” co-anchor Jonathan Karl to discuss their roles in speaking out against Trump in the wake of the January 6 insurrection.

“Fundamentally, a second Trump term could mean the end of American democracy as we know it, and I don’t say that lightly,” Alyssa Farah Griffin, said. (Griffin is now a co-host of ABC’s “The View.”) She explicitly accused Trump of having gone to “historic and unconstitutional lengths” in attempting to “steal a democratic election” in order to stay in power.

They all had consistent and predictable stories to tell. “We don’t need to speculate what a second Trump term would look like because we already saw it play out,” Sarah Matthews told Karl.

“[The 2024 presidential election] is a fundamental election to continue to safeguard our institutions and our constitutional republic,” Hutchinson added. “We are extremely fragile as a country, and so is the democratic experiment.” As you may recall, Cassidy Hutchinson already came out against Trump in her bombshell testimony during the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack.

Now I am here neither to praise nor bury these women. I’m not here to call them heroes. Conversely, I could join in with a lot of my fellow activists and demand to know what took them so long. I could even make ironic and snide comments that they are finally stating the obvious. I could, in short, tell them “Welcome to Palmer Report 101. We’ve been saying the same damned things for years. You’re not telling us anything we don’t already know.”

No, my point is this, and I believe it’s a significant and powerful one: This club only exists on their side. There exists no troupe of people formerly on our side who are stepping into the limelight and confessing the errors of their ways. There are no former progressives showing up as surprise witnesses at James Comer’s Biden impeachment “investigation,” no Biden liberals joining Fox News as co-hosts, no sudden mea culpas in the Hunter Biden witch hunt. Nothing.

There are no Omarosa Manigault Newmans or Anthony Scaramuccis suddenly departing the Biden White House and coming out and admitting what a fiasco it all is. There are no equivalents to the apology letters, however brief, from Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell. There are no equivalents to the apology letters, however verbose, from Jenna Ellis and bail bondsman Scott Hall.

We have no equivalent to former Trump “fixer” Michael Cohen. We have no Bill Barrs, we have no Chris Christies. All the disgruntled former employees belong to Trump. There simply isn’t anything like it in the world of the libs. We don’t have such people for the simple and obvious reason that such people DO NOT EXIST on our side.

And that, brothers and sisters, is the difference between our world, the world of the truth, and their world, the world of lies and fantasies and “alternative truths.” That, in short, is why you can’t “both sides” this ongoing battle between them and us.

They are objectively wrong, and most people know it. The ones with courage have come forward and said as much — in droves, in avalanches, in floods, in hordes. The rest, the majority who can’t or won’t face the truth, continue to cower behind their lies and hope they are never discovered.

The few who have come forward are members of a long and growing list. The majority refuse to admit what they secretly know. Their name is Legion, for they are many.

To be sure, there are the lunatics on the fringe where they belong. The people with obvious sick pathologies, like the disgusting exhibitionist Lauren Boebert, or the nut job Marjorie Taylor Greene, or the kiddie fiddler Matt Gaetz. They mostly believe their own bullshit. They’re just plain, obvious evil. And they’re also desperately stupid.

It’s in the middle where the cowards dwell. The ones who know better but are terrified of the MAGA base. They know the second they step out into public scrutiny and confess the obvious truths of MAGA hypocrisy they will be barraged by MAGA hate and ridicule, denunciation and doxxing, condemnation and death threats.

But if you want objective proof to convince the doubter, the fencesitter, the silly little fools who wallow in the irrelevance of mythologies such as Biden’s “deal” with Israel or Biden’s age or Biden’s “failing” economy, trot out the long and constantly growing list of Trump defectors and ask them to show you a similar list in the Biden ledger. They can’t do it.

They can’t do it because it’s not there, and it’s not there because the objective truth is on our side. Anyone with a brain, anyone with a capacity for objective thought, anyone who isn’t consumed by their own confirmation bias knows it. They know it right down to their core. Only a minority of them have the guts to come forth and admit it. And so they do and have done, every day for years. And so they will continue to come forth like refugees from the evil that is the MAGA cult. Because the truth belongs to us. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
