Elise Stefanik has disgraced herself. Stefanik is the woman who was elevated after Cheney was removed from her leadership position for being honest about the January 6 insurrection. Stefanik was once considered a moderate. Those days are long gone, though. And per Raw Story, she has gone a bridge too far with her latest comments.

Elise put out a statement on Ukraine. Never one to mince hate words, she decided to use the situation to berate President Biden. Calling him “feckless” and “unfit,” Stefanik unleashed a torrent of words saying President Biden has made the world far less safe. She accused President Biden of failing the country on “every metric.”

The push-back was fast and furious. Most appeared utterly repulsed by her words: “There are no words to describe just how despicable and reprehensible people-resembling-things like you are.” According to Raw Story, these words came from Pejman Yousefzadeha, writer for The Bulwark.

It’s awful, isn’t it? It’s terrible that we have such vermin holding the titles of elected officials. But there is light — much light — at the end of the tunnel. And I do want to speak for a moment about the light. Most people are like us. Most people love. Most people care. And most people feel.

I will briefly borrow a line from William Shakespeare’s Hamlet: “Doubt thou the stars are fire, Doubt that the sun doth move, Doubt Truth to be a liar, But never doubt I love.”

We all share this beautiful and mystical planet together, and most of us want what’s best for it. And we want this because we were born with consciences. We have the ability to love, to care, and to yearn. And one of the things we yearn for is peace.

This means we are the normal ones. It’s a beautiful thing to want the best for everyone. And never doubt this matters so very much. There will always be haters like Stefanik. But love for our planet and the people who live on it is what we have in common. And that’s why we win. Because at the end of the day, our voices are the strongest voices in the room.
