Turns out George Santos’ bail was paid by his father and aunt – who work as a house painter and a postal worker, per Daily Beast. No wonder Santos didn’t want their names out there, it’s all too suspicious. This rabbit hole keeps getting deeper.

For instance, the DOJ will want to investigate whether or not Santos was spreading money around to his relatives back when his grifting was still fraudulently bringing him large amounts of money, and if this is same money is now being used to pay Santos’ bail. This wouldn’t necessarily implicate his family members in any crimes. But it would raise the question of whether they were legally entitled to have that money to begin with.

No wonder George Santos didn’t want their names out there. He ludicrously claimed it was because it could make them susceptible to violence. But what it really does is potentially make them susceptible to federal investigation.

Also, remember when George Santos said he’d rather go to jail than reveal the names of the people who paid his bail? Turns out he was lying about that too.
