Here comes the domino effect
Alone? That’s what former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance said about Donald Trump. Alone. Trump, Vance suggested, could wind up a single solitary insurrectionist facing trial alone — as others take plea deals.
Vance spoke with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell and said that Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro taking plea deals has changed things significantly for Trump. Vance said this could now create a “domino effect.” It could create a domino effect where others begin to take plea deals. And Vance said that could include everyone — except for Trump.
Alone — deliciously,. Delightfully alone — that WOULD be something to see. “I think it really signifies what Prosecutors know,” Vance explained. “That you indict all of the people who your evidence suggests were among the most culpable participants, knowing full well you may indict 19 people, but it’s very unlikely that all of them will go to trial.”
Imagine an apple tree with a horde of poisonous apples. One by one, they’re picked away, leaving only one toxic poison apple — the deepest, reddest, most poisonous of them all — swaying in the breeze, utterly and completely — alone.
We know Donald Trump will never take a plea. This is because:
1) He’ll never admit to wrongdoing as he’s a malignant narcissist and:
2) Fani Willis would never give Trump a plea, I don’t think. He’s the big kahuna — the big kahuna of Rico.
Perhaps this was the goal all along. Vance sure appears to think so. Here’s more from, Vance. “It’s possible that it could end up being just Donald Trump sitting alone at the defense table.” A lone robot in outer space, lost in orbit. What a treat this would be.
Of course, Powell and Chesebro took pleas. All these people want to avoid jail time. They’re people who are not used to being booked, fingerprinted, and standing trial, so it stands to reason they’re likely scared — very scared.
I imagine they will all fall down – or at least most of them will as time ticks away. How many others will take pleas? How many will implicate the king insurrectionist himself? Stay tuned.
