Fulton County is falling apart for Team Trump

When Fulton County DA Fani Willis criminally indicted nineteen people under RICO statutes including Donald Trump, we knew where things were headed in broad strokes but there was an open question about how we’d get there. Who would flip and when? Who would implode? What kind of united front would Team Trump be able to keep up as the case moved forward?

It was a bad sign for Team Trump when three key defendants – Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, and Jenna Ellis – flipped before they could even get to trial. This gave Fani Willis a strong group of cooperating witnesses to help ensure that the other defendants end up convicted. Since that time things have gotten even worse for Team Trump.

Mark Meadows tried to get his Fulton County trial moved to federal court, but lost that effort (twice) and got caught committing perjury in the process, making it likely impossible for him to get a favorable deal. Rudy Giuliani lost a civil case in Georgia that was based largely on the same parameters as the criminal case, thus suggesting that Team Trump will indeed lose its criminal trials in the state.

And now defendant Trevian Kutti – who recently made headlines for a video she posted in which she appeared to threaten witnesses – is losing her attorneys. Kutti’s legal team is filing to withdraw from representing her. You can’t withdraw against your client’s wishes without a valid reason, and her attorneys are implying that she wasn’t listening to them or paying them.

So that’s the state of affairs for Team Trump in Georgia. Three of the nineteen have already flipped on the others. Another one has tried a bizarre appeal that backfired on him. Another one of them has lost a civil trial that points to a likely conviction in his criminal trial. And now one of them has gone so rogue that the attorneys are quitting. By the time this gets to trial there may be nothing left of Team Trump at all.
