The Fulton County grand jury has returned ten criminal indictments in DA Fani Willis’ criminal probe into 2020 election fraud, but no names or specific charges have been announced yet. Notably, the same visible cover sheet that signifies ten indictments also confirms that none of Willis’ requested indictments were rejected by the grand jury.

So why ten indictments? Does this mean ten criminal charges, with multiple names attached to each charge? That can happen with RICO charges. Or does this mean ten people have been indicted? How does this square with the prior reporting that a dozen or more people were on track to be indicted? Does this mean that two or more targets ended up cutting plea deals before they could be indicted?

In any case, since the judge opted not to read aloud the names while he was signing off on the indictments, we now have to wait for the clerk to post the indictments on the court docket. One major news outlet is reporting that this could take up to three hours, but for all we know, it could end up taking less time. We still expect we’ll get the names by the end of the evening one way or the other.

In the meantime, it’s now almost a certainty that Donald Trump has been criminally indicted in Fulton County. We also know that Fani Willis was able to bring every criminal indictment that she sought today from the grand jury. Now it’s just a question of who else has been indicted alongside Trump, and what all the charges are. Tick tock.
