Fox News just made a huge mess for itself – and still didn’t manage to help Trump

A juror in Donald Trump’s criminal trial reportedly quit before the trial could begin, after Fox News exposed enough information about the juror that she started getting calls from friends and family. This has rightly set off widespread backlash.

This juror has one heck of a civil case against Fox News if she wants it. This wasn’t simply a matter of putting a little too much detail out there about a juror in an overzealously misguided attempt at journalism. This was something else. Fox flat out stated that this juror should “scare” Trump. It felt like a call to action. It was retaliatory. And it was wrong.

But here’s the thing. This juror is being replaced with another juror, and the criminal trial against Donald Trump is moving forward without a hitch. Even with Fox News’ attempted villainy on Trump’s behalf, the process is still working. Trump is still going to be convicted. And all Fox News did was make a mess for itself in the process.
