Everyone piles on after Donald Trump makes pathetic “return” to Twitter

Two and a half years after he was banned, and eight months after he was reinstated, Donald Trump finally decided to return to Twitter on Thursday evening – simply to post his own mugshot along with a fundraising link. It was a pathetic enough effort in its own right, which Trump somehow managed to make even more pathetic.

Under his mugshot, Trump posted the words “NEVER SURRENDER!” That’s ironic, given that Trump posted these words shortly after he surrendered himself for arrest. So much for not surrendering. Remember all that buzz awhile back, before Trump’s indictments began, about how Trump was going to refuse to submit himself for arrest and was somehow magically going to avoid it all? So much for that.

Trump’s “comeback” tweet received more than a hundred thousand replies in its first several hours, most of them negative, many of them mocking Trump for having indeed surrendered. What does Trump even think he’s trying to do here? He’s just flailing around, hoping that his random stupid moves will somehow magically save him. They won’t.
