Explanations. People use them every day for many different reasons. “I’d like an explanation, please!” How many times has THAT phrase been uttered? Some explanations are better than others. Explanations, like so many various things, vary from person to person. Donald Trump has given us an explanation.

This explanation pertains to why he repeatedly mixes up Obama and Biden’s names. Trump says he is being SARCASTIC. Ah, sarcasm. Where would the world be without a bit of sarcasm? Donald Trump appears to have no idea just what sarcasm is.

Trump claims that he is not cognitively impaired and that referencing Biden as Obama is just a sarcastic joke. Oh, brother. Trump just failed the explanation test. This is no explanation at all. I am aware there has been much paranoid Maga talk about Obama secretly running the country.

But Trump has specifically gotten the names wrong regarding who is President NOW. He also mentioned Jeb Bush’s name. Was Trump being sarcastic then, too? Furthermore, Trump is not the type to “get” sarcasm — not natural sarcasm. Sarcasm is an art — and understanding it requires intelligence. BEING sarcastic requires subtlety — Trump’s about as subtle as a piranha.

Trump is not only forgetting who the President is. He also forgets WHERE he is — and he frequently forgets history. Coupling all that together, his “explanation” of mixing up Trump and Biden makes no sense at all.

Trump claims each mixup was utterly intentional. Add that lie to a long sea of lies. But that is not the end of this story. Trump appears deeply troubled by talk of his senility. Because he then went on to wax poetic about what a healthy young buck he really is.

Trump bragged that he aced his recent cognitive exam and his health was great. I think the man doth protest WAY too much. One simply cannot give an insane explanation of intentionality to something that was so clearly unintentional.
