Donald Trump’s trial is underway, and he just lost his first ruling already #TrumpTrial
Donald Trump’s first criminal trial is officially underway. There are no cameras in the courtroom. But thanks to the numerous reporters in the room, we’re all getting a real time peek into what’s transpiring. For instance Lawfare is reporting that Trump looked “bored” and was staring blankly while waiting for the trial to begin – not a surprise considering how mentally vacant he’s become.
But now there’s some news coming out of the trial already. Trump’s lawyers filed a motion for recusal, which Judge Merchan quickly dismissed as empty innuendo, and rejected. And now they’ve already moved on to discussing jury selection.
In other words, Donald Trump’s criminal trial really is happening – and Trump still doesn’t have a magic wand. He’s just sitting there, losing his nonsense motions in real time, as the reality of the trial plays out whether he wants it to or not.
