Donald Trump’s “exit ramp” just got torched

I’ve heard the expression, “Save the whales!” I’ve heard “Save the earth!” I’ve heard many calls to save many different things. But never in my life until this week, have I heard: “SAVE PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY!” There stands Donald Trump, who uttered these words on Truth Social. Well, THIS is a new one. Does Trump plan to trademark this? “Save Presidential immunity!” Perhaps if he really is the GOP nominee, that could be his campaign slogan.

In truth, one must be desperate to put THESE words out there. But put them out there; he did in a wild rant that was so loony I’d not be surprised if a few ketchup bottles were thrown.

“Nation-destroying!!” Where was Trump, and how did he look when he was typing all this crap? My guess is Trump looked sweaty and rather piggish. Perhaps he reached out to impatiently flick away an orange lock of hair as his fingers, like venomous little claws, hit the keyboard continuously.

“A president of the United States must have full immunity!” I think this week will be remembered and go down in history. That is because this is the week Trump found out the hard way that there are no exit ramps.

“Help me!” These are my words, but they may as well have been his. What Trump did on Truth Social the other night was beg for help. All alone, like a wandering vagabond, he asked and pleaded for help while no help was incoming.

One of my favorite aspects of Greek Mythology is that the Gods and Goddesses had the power to turn their enemies into whatever they wanted them to be, for example. The goddess Athena turned her nemesis Arachne into a spider. That is where that word comes from.

And this is a moment where the myths of the past can interweave with the present. This is because Donald Trump has been turned into something, too. Donald Trump has been turned, right before our eyes, into a beggar, an irate panhandler on borrowed time where freedom is concerned.

I doubt this looter of people’s souls realizes that there isn’t anybody coming to turn him back into the old cocky Donald Trump, a Donald Trump that was free as the wind, with no sword of Damocles hanging over him. Now he is a mere mortal, a CITIZEN Trump, doomed to perform for the public in his new role as a beggar and a ragamuffin, doomed to adjust to life in his new pathetic identity.
