It seems like every day now, that we’ve had some major event usually involving Donald Trump. Monday will be no different. This is the day that judge Tanya Chutkan has called for a hearing. This is the day the trial date will likely be decided.

Now, as you know, Trump’s team wants the trial date to be in 2026. This is not going to happen and something tells me they know this very well. But here’s the thing: no matter what happens one can expect Trump won’t be happy about it. The only thing that would cause Trump’s innards momentarily contentment, is a trial in 2026 or even later.

But Chutkan is no Judge Cannon. She’s a serious judge, and she’s not going to take Trump’s crap. So she might set the trial date for January of next year or March but it’s certainly not going to be in 2026.

It will be interesting to see Trump’s reaction. I predict he will rant and rave about how the Judge is trying to steal his human rights and dignity by setting a trial date in the middle of campaign season.

Of course, if Trump does go on a tirade, which is pretty much inevitable at this point, he could violate the conditions of his release. One way or another, there is an excellent chance that Trump will end up in a cell before any of his trials do begin. This is because he can’t keep his mouth shut, and it’s not going to get any better for him going forward.

In the meantime, we all have Monday to look forward to. It’s going to be a great Monday, a dandy Monday, a blue Monday. It will be a a blue Monday of sadness and anger for Trump, but joy for the party of blue, the Democratic Party and the best damn party that ever was.
