In spite of all the doomsday hype about Donald Trump’s criminal trials somehow never happening, in reality they’re about to get underway. It now appears that Trump’s New York criminal trial (Alvin Bragg) will start in March, and then Trump’s Washington DC criminal trial (Jack Smith) will get underway in perhaps April. Given that this is already February, Trump’s legal downfall is coming up fast – and there’s nothing he can do to stop it. Trump seems to know it too.

Trump posted this on social media: “If Special Counsel Jack Smith wants to do good for our Country, and help to unify it, he should drop all Litigation against Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, ME, and let our Country HEAL.”

This post is interesting because it’s very similar to the posts he’s previously made just before each prosecutor indicted him. In those instances it was more along the lines of “If [prosecutor] wants to help heal the nation, they won’t indict me.” Each time Trump posted that, he got indicted shortly thereafter. In other words he knew the indictment was coming down, and his plea for “fairness” and “healing” was his last ditch rationale.

Now we have Trump making a last ditch plea to Jack Smith for fairness and healing. Hmm. This is the messaging that Trump resorts to when he’s about to get indicted. There’s no indication that Smith is about to hit Trump with more criminal charges. But this could be a sign that Trump now fully expects his criminal trial to start soon, and he knows there’s nothing he can do to stop it.

In any case, Trump is giving away that something big is coming, and he’s afraid, and he knows he can’t stop it. Tick tock. Stay tuned.
