Donald Trump just gave Jack Smith an “enormous gift”

If you watched Donald Trump’s interview with Fox News host Bret Baier on Monday, and you came away thinking that Trump had incriminated himself and hurt his own prospects at trial, it turns out you’re not the only one.

Former Trump lawyer Ty Cobb now says that the interview was an “enormous gift” to Jack Smith and his team of prosecutors. Cobb is also predicting that Smith will indeed use the interview at trial, in order to help get Trump convicted.

It takes a remarkable level of idiocy to go on television shortly after your criminal indictment and say such incriminating things that prosecutors are now expected to use it against you at your trial. This is almost getting into Robert Durst territory. But at least Durst didn’t know he was on a hot mic. Trump went on TV and knowingly incriminated himself!
